María Castro Puyana

María Castro Puyana is Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Alcalá. She got her Ph.D. in Chemistry (European Doctorate with Extraordinary Doctorate Award) at the University of Alcalá in 2007 and carried out different postdoctoral research stages in national and international research institutions of high level. Her research interests are mainly focused on the development of advanced analytical methodologies (chiral and non-chiral) based on the use of CE and HPLC for food analysis as well as on the development of metabolomic approaches based on mass spectrometry to identify and quantify biomarkers of food quality, safety, and traceability. She is co-author of 26 book chapters published in prestigious editorials and 74 research articles published in high-impact journals (JCR). Lately, her research career has been awarded with the “Young Researcher Award in Science at the University of Alcalá” (November-2014).
